Ewan’s ‘Whisky Nights’
I started informal whisky nights a few years ago after making one of the rooms in the house a ‘whisky room’. This was a room with all things whisky, some chesterfields and a generous whisky collection. I have known whisky a long time, my birthday is on Hogmanay and has been responsible for me accumulating a collection. I’m not a man to do clubs, so I decided to organise an annual whisky tasting where friends and family with a collective interest in a dram could meet and blether over a few drams. The menu is a journey taken over the course of the night, taken in ‘flights’ to break up the journey. In between are food matching sessions savory and sweet. The night goes on late with a cigar around the fire with a favourite or a bourbon/rum before evening ends.

Here’s the room in its glory with the menu chalked on the mirror. The Whisky room has now gone and new journey’s will continue in 2012. I hope you like our tour, maybe we’ll see you at the next one. Slàinte!
This is a wee tour of my Whisky room used for tastings from 2009- 2011, have a look around
